Sound architecture
“Garso architektura” (Sound Architecture) – creative sound editing workshop, taking place for the 5th year in a row. These workshops introduce contemporary audio art and editing to young musicians and sound editors 12 years and older.
The main goal of this project is to develop technical and creative skills of young music creators and performers by getting them introduced to a variety of audio art, music creation, recording and sound processing tools.
Locations selected for “Garso architektūra” workshops had to meet only one criteria – no similar type of seminars have been organized there before, i.e. the goal was to reach beyond the musical ‘’borders’’ of the capital – to visit small Lithuanian towns, lacking technical and human resources. Young musicians living there previously had no opportunities or knowledge available to further develop their creative and technical artistic skills in a meaningful way.
Locations that have been visited by the Sound Architecture project include 15 towns: Šalčininkai municipality cultural center, Alytus art school, Marijampolė cultural center, Kėdainiai music school, Jonava cultural center, Šiauliai cultural center “Laiptų galerija”, Pasvalys cultural center, Anykščiai art incubator – art studio, Zarasai cultural center, Joniškis art school (Žagarė department), Raseiniai open youth space “AJE”, Vilkaviškis cultural center, Šilutė culture and entertainment center, Joniškis cultural center, Krakiai cultural center.
